Punch and Judy, wie Ihr sie noch nie erlebt habt. Laut, wild und voller anarchischer Energie, gespielt für Euch in schönster Straßentheater-Manier unter freiem Himmel direkt vor der Getränkefeinkost-Klappe! Seht, wie Judy sich klug und souverän durch Punchs Machenschaften und die Schikanen der Polizei manövriert – und dabei ihre 360-jährige Beziehung gründlich hinterfragt. Lacht euch schlapp, wenn der Teufel und seine rechte Hand Croc versuchen, das chaotische Duo endgültig in die Hölle zu bugsieren. Doch natürlich kommt es anders – und am Ende fließt die Elbe gemächlich weiter.
Spike Bones Show dekonstruiert und rekonstruiert das klassische britische Kaspertheater auf herrlich respektlose Weise und schafft dabei ein Erlebnis, das alle mitreißt – unabhängig von Alter, Sprache oder Vorwissen.
Entwickelt wurde dieses ungewöhnliche Stück im Rahmen von The Judy Project, einem Forschungsprojekt an der University of Exeter (UK) unter der Leitung von Alissa Mello. Premiere feierte Spike Bones’ Punch & Judy Show beim 49. Annual Covent Garden May Fayre & Puppet Festival in London – und nun ist sie bei uns zu erleben!

Punch & Judy as you’ve never seen them before. Loud, wild, and bursting with anarchic energy, performed in true street-theatre style under the open sky, just around the corner from the puppet theatre, right outside the iconic Getränkefeinkost in Buckau!
Watch as Judy skilfully and confidently navigates Punch’s antics and the harassment of the local authorities – all while thoroughly re-evaluating their 360-year-old relationship. Laugh out loud as the Devil and his sidekick Croc try their best to drag the chaotic duo down to hell. But, of course, things take a different turn – and in the end, the Elbe flows on undisturbed.
Spike Bones’ show deconstructs and reconstructs the traditional British Punch & Judy in wonderfully irreverent fashion, creating an experience that captivates everyone, regardless of age, language, or background.
This extraordinary production was developed as part of The Judy Project, a research initiative at the University of Exeter (UK) led by Alissa Mello. The show premiered at the 49th Annual Covent Garden May Fayre & Puppet Festival in London – and is now live on our stage!
